Road To The Winter Classic Episode 3 Recap Before the Series Finale Tonight

First, let me say that this is a tough blog to write, as I’m basically writing it with knowledge of the future. I know what happened after this episode. I know that the Bruins laid in egg at Gillette and it was an embarrassment. But I have a job to do and that job is to pull myself up by the bootstraps and remind you guys that the final episode of Road to the Winter Classic airs tonight at 10/9 central on Epix. If you don’t get the channel, you can go to epixhd.com and the episode will autoplay on the front page. Despite the whooping we received, it’s always cool to catch a glimpse at what goes on behind the scenes.

As for last week’s highlights…

– Gotta love the Candiens watching themselves get their asses kicked over breakfast. Must be tough to get your ass kicked at night then have to sit there and get bashed by commentators while you’re tying to enjoy your parfait in the morning.

Although at least PK got to catch a glimpse of himself get worked? Gotta appreciate a sick goal whenever you can get it when your team is getting dominated every game.

Also Weiss getting all butthurt about a “How did he miss that?” is fantastic. Weiss is the guy who doesn’t let fans chirp him because they don’t play in the league. Oh I sucked? How many goals you got, you fucking loser? Umm zero, I don’t play hockey. Which should make it more insulting that I can still tell how garbage that was with even my limited knowledge.

– I’m not sure how I feel about Krug and Krejci owning little foo foo dogs. I don’t have much of a leg to stand on, as I’m a goldendoodle owner. But I’m of the mindset that a man has to have at least a 30 pound dog to be trusted. Can’t have guys on your squad running around with tiny dogs wearing full outfits, certainly can’t work for a guy like that.

– But even odder than the clothes is Krug’s dog’s diet. Gluten free, no dairy, no whole wheat, only free range chicken. That’s over the top, dude. Dogs can eat whatever they want. You’re telling me you’ve got a dog named Fenway and he’s never scoffed down a hot dog? I’ve got half a mind to call PETA on you, bubba.

– I’ve been very pro Subban all series but I do NOT like the look of this little kid (brother? Nephew? Cousin?). Wearing a Bruins sweatshirt over a Candiens tshirt is classless. Total coward move, exactly what I would’ve expected from a Subban before this series started.

– The Hayes have been the highlight of the series from the Bruins side. Not surprising that they focused on a local family, but they’ve crushed it. The Hayes family Christmas party looks like one of the top 5 parties I’ve ever been to in my life. Out of a movie, almost. You want a Boston Irish Christmas? Boom, you got it.

– Finally, since I talked a little trash about Fenway the dog, I gotta give him props too. Fenway opening his own gifts was as adorable as it gets. Cute times infinity.

“Look what I got! Hey put the camera over here! It’s a toy!!!!”
